Wie zijn wij

De oprichters kwamen al jaren in Mirtos, een kustdorpje in het zuid-oosten van Kreta en waren gefascineerd door dit prachtige eiland. Hetgeen waar ze vaak moeite mee hadden, waren de talloze hongerige, verwaarloosde en zieke dieren die ze tegenkwamen op hun tochten. Langzamerhand ontstond het idee om concreet hulp te gaan bieden aan de mensen ter plaatse die zich het lot van deze dieren aantrokken. Vanuit Nederland is toen met een aantal vrijwilligers Mirtos Animal Project opgezet en de organisatie heeft sindsdien een spectaculaire groei doorgemaakt.
